Ristorante Arzella

Every place has a story. Whether historical or sentimental, Arzella’s humble beginnings in 1986 as an unassuming eatery with the short-lived name of ‘Flowers’ couldn’t be any less extraordinary.
But, for my three brothers and myself, what started as an adventurous forage into the world of catering by my late father, a man known for his love for food and socialisation as much as he was renowned for his musical genius, soon evolved into a joyous existence characterised by all the best things in life. Social butterfly that he was, my father drew people wherever he went, and so it was that, in 1995, thanks to my mother’s unwavering support and a sizeable following of loyal clients, Arzella assumed its rightful place in its current, elevated location, only serving to further cement its reputation as the best seafood restaurant on the island.
It seems fitting that the strumming of the strings of my father’s guitar should still echo through the years; that a substantial part of him remains inexplicably linked in every inch of Arzella’s walls; that every chink of cutlery, each steaming dish we serve, each glass of wine we pour, is no less than a tribute to the man to which Arzella owes its success.
This, my father’s legacy, is a weighty yet proud responsibility I carry. Yes, every place has a story, and it is my life’s work to make you a part of ours.

Cheers,
Chris
